Submitting a Revised Manuscript

Submitting a Revised Manuscript
Please supply one hard copy of the revised manuscript, along with a single word processor (Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect) or rich text format (RTF) file that includes the text, tables, references and figure captions on an IBM-format floppy disk, zip disk or CD-ROM to:

The Editors, Archaea
Heron Publishing, 202-3994 Shelbourne St.
Victoria, British Columbia
V8N 3E2, Canada

If possible, figures should also be supplied as digital files. For information on suitable file formats, please refer to the next section.

If you are an Australian who lives outside the cities, being able to visit is one of life’s pleasures.

Submitting figures in digital format Digital files of figures should be provided in one of the following formats: TIFF (e.g., Corel Photopaint or Adobe Photoshop), EPS (e.g., Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator), PDF (Adobe Acrobat) or XLS (MS Excel). Figures may also be acceptable after import into Microsoft Word. All figures must be of publication quality. To circumvent possible file and software incompatibilities, image files may be supplied in several different formats.

Bitmap images (i.e., TIFF files) of black and white line drawings should be supplied at a resolution of 1200 dpi. Color images in TIFF format should be created as 32-bit CMYK files. Both color and grayscale (e.g., monochrome half-tone photographs) should be supplied at a resolution of 300 dpi, unless they include fine lines or text, in which case the resolution should be 600 dpi.

Submitting original (hard copy) figures If authors are unable to provide electronic image files, the Publisher will scan illustrations and photographs from high quality originals supplied by the author with the final version of a manuscript. Such material will not normally be returned to the author. The name(s) of the author(s) and the figure number should be marked on the back of each figure in soft pencil. Figure captions must be typed on a separate sheet.
