Reviewer Guide

Review Request

So far as possible, Archaea’s peer review process relies on electronic communications among authors, editors and reviewers. Requests for reviews are sent by e-mail. The review request includes a Web link to the manuscript for review. This URL is supplied in confidence, solely for the use of the reviewer.

Viewing the Manuscript

Manuscripts for review are in PDF format, which means that reviewers must have the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print the document. This software it available at no charge from the Adobe Systems Web site.

Review Format

Archaea has no predetermined format for reviews. Reviewers are asked to deal with any points that they consider have an important bearing on the scientific validity of the research reported or the effectiveness with which it has been communicated.

Submitting a Review

Reviews can be submitted by completing the Online Review Form or by e-mail, either in the body of a message or as an attached file to .

Anonymity

Reviewer anonymity is protected by deleting any indication of the reviewer’s identity (other than may be provided in the body of the review) from the electronic files or other material supplied to authors.

Reviewer Subscription Discount

For each article that they review, Archaea reviewers are entitled to a US$10.00 discount on the price of a personal journal subscription.
